May 6 (Reuters) - Google is intending to make its search engine more "visual, snackable, personal, and human," with an emphasis on servicing young people internationally, the Wall Street Journal said on Saturday, citing documents.

The move comes as artificial intelligence (AI) apps like as ChatGPT are fast rising in popularity, showing a technology that might upend the way companies and society work.

The internet giant will pull its service farther away from "10 blue links," which is a conventional pattern of delivering search results and wants to add more human voices as part of the transition, the article stated.

At its annual I/O developer conference in the coming week, Google is slated to showcase new capabilities that enable users to carry out dialogues with an AI program, a project code-named "Magi," WSJ noted, citing individuals familiar with the issue.

Generative AI has become a buzzword this year, with apps grabbing the public's attention and spurring a rush among corporations to build comparable solutions they hope will revolutionize the nature of work.

Google, part of Alphabet Inc., did not immediately reply to Reuters' request for comment.
